BLINDS

Blinds

Blinds are a thing we often forget to clean and if we don’t,

we just usually wipe it with a cloth. But there is more

effective way of cleaning blinds. Soak an old sock in a

mixture of vinegar and warm water, slip it on your hand

and start wiping. Using this technique, all the dirt gets removed.

CHEESE GRATER

Cheese grater

Don’t shred dish sponges (or your knuckles for that matter)

while trying to clean your cheese grater. To remove grated

cheese, grate a piece of a potato. The oxalic acid of the

potato will remove the cheese debris immediately.

SNEAKERS SOLES

Sneakers soles

Don’t bother with scrubbing your sneakersĀ“ soles with soap

and a cloth. If you want the bottom part of your shoes to be

as white and clean as it was when they were new,

rub some toothpaste on them.

SILVER

Silver

If your guaranteed tricks to clean tarnished silver jewels

don’t work, try this one. Bring a litre of water, baking soda

and a piece of aluminium foil to a boil, put the silver items

in it and let it sit there for about 30 seconds. Then,

remove it and enjoy your brand-new-like silverware.

CAST IRON PAN

Cast iron pan

Scrub it with a mixture of coarse salt and water. It will help you

remove even the most stubborn food residues

clung to the panĀ“s surface.

TOOTHBRUSH

Toothbrush

Rinsing your toothbrush after usage is not enough. The bacteria

still thrive there. To get rid of them, give your toothbrush

a bath in a cup with a mixture of vinegar and water.

Don’t forget to rinse it after.

TOASTER

Toaster

Shaking your toaster is far from what a proper cleaning of this

appliance should look like. To clean the inside, first make

sure your toaster is unplugged. Pull out the crumb drawer

and remove the crumbs located inside (older toasters may

not have crumb drawers). Scrub the outside of a toaster

with a mixture of water and some tartar cream.

It will look amazing again.

FURNITURE

Furniture

Dusting furniture with the feather duster may look easy and

comfortable but the only thing it actually does is throwing

the dust particles in the air. If you use a dryer sheet,

not only will it remove the dust but its anti-static

properties will prevent the dust from

collecting in future too.
