YETI CRAB
Formally known as the Kiwa Hirsuta it was discovered in 2005 deep in
the Pacific Ocean. Its hairy pincers are filled with bacteria that might be
used to detoxify water around the volcanic vents that it inhabits.
DUMBO OCTOPUS
Named after Disney’s famous elephant due to the fins on their heads,
these creatures are a rare site thanks to the depths at which they live.
STAR NOSED MOLE
Inhabiting the north-eastern United States and Canada, the star-nosed
mole has 22 miniature tentacles at the tip of its snout that it uses to
forage for food.
SUN BEAR
Also known as the “dog bear” due to its small stature and extremely
long tongue, it is found in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia.
HAGFISH
Having been called the nastiest fish in the sea, it attaches itself to
passing fish, bores through their skin, and consumes them
from the inside out.
AXOLOTL
This species of Mexican mole salamander originates from a lake that
underlies Mexico City and are often used in research due to their
curious self-regenerating abilities.
GHARIAL
Spending most of its life in the water this north Indian crocodile uses
the bulbous growth on its nose to produce gurgling sounds during
the mating season.
NAKED NECK CHICKEN
An uncommon sight on any continent except for Europe, it goes
without saying but this breed of chicken has feathers everywhere
except for its neck.
