BUY THE RIGHT TRAINERS NOT THE

COOLEST-LOOKING ONES

Buy the right sneakers not the coolest-looking ones

Wearing the right trainers can make the difference between an

enjoyable workout and a painful one. When you’re trainer shopping

keep in mind that different types of trainers are designed for particular

activities and that the type of trainer you get is going to depend on a

lot of things including how much cushion you want, how your

feet pronate, and how much stability you need.

WHEN YOU GO OUT TO HAVE FUN, DANCE

When you go out to have fun, DANCE

Next time you go to the club, be sure to DANCE, you can burn over 200

Calories (depending on how much you weigh) in 30 minutes

of fast dancing.

STOP USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

FOR SHORT DISTANCES

Stop using public transportation for short distances

Instead walk. The more YOU move, the healthier you’ll be.

WASH YOUR CAR AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK

Wash your car at least once a week

Here’s an incentive to keep your ride spotless. It’s estimated that

washing your car can burn about 250 calories in an hour.

Waxing your car can burn even more, about 350!

CLEAN THE HOUSE MORE OFTEN

Clean the house more often

Similar to washing your car, cleaning your home can help you burn

calories as well. Mopping for an hour can burn anywhere around

150 calories; Scrubbing the tub for about 15 minutes, 90 calories,

Vacuuming for 30 minutes, 110 calories. Not only do you get a

clean home but you also get a clean bill of health.

JOIN A GYM (IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT)

This should be somewhat obvious but you need a place to work

out right? However what most people don’t realize is the accountability

factor. You are more likely to use that which you pay for, which means

a little more incentive to come to the gym.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS

Track your progress

Tracking your progress in a fitness journal will help a lot.

Taking photos of your body every month if possible and seeing

where you started and how far you’ve come will definitely motivate

you on lazy days when you need the encouragement the most.

DON’T COUNT THE MINUTES/HOURS YOU WORK OUT

Don’t count the minutes/hours you work out

When we went to school many of us had the bad habit of counting the

minutes until the lesson was over. Some of us still have this habit

while working out. By focusing on the clock we don’t focus on our

workout. So the next time you go to the gym or do any athletic

activity, ignore the clock and focus on your workout.

STAY HYDRATED NO MATTER WHAT

Stay hydrated no matter what

The more hydrated you are, the less tired you’ll feel.

Drinking water throughout your workout as well as before and

after will help gain better results faster and most important,

will keep you healthy during the process.
