CELEBS WHO OVERCAME SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Added on: 13th Feb 2016
BRITNEY SPEARS
Although her struggles with alcohol and drugs have been widely
publicized she went to rehab and sources says she has remained
clean. It’s a good thing too since she is the mother of two.
DEMI LOVATO
Like Britney Spears, Demi Lovato is also one of those younger
celebrities who battled several sorts of addictions. She went
to rehab in 2010 for three months to treat her self-harm issues as
well as her addiction to alcohol and various drugs. Now,
Demi Lovato is living a healthier life with her family.
CHAKA KHAN
When Chaka Khan first signed with Warner Bros., she started
using heroin and cocaine. She was addicted to both substances
for nearly a decade, but after receiving a warning from singer
Etta James, she decided to quit and become sober.
KID CUDI
Kid Cudi got arrested in 2010 for drug possession. At that time,
he was a heavy marijuana user (which influenced a lot of his songs).
However, in 2011 he decided to clean himself up; a decision that
was forever memorialized on his wrist with a tattoo symbolizing
the death of his old drug addict self.
KELLY OSBOURNE
When she was 17, Kelly Osbourne became addicted to Vicodin.
She was so addicted to the drug that she took up to as many
as 50 pills a day. She went to rehab and in 2009 and was finally
able to get clean.
NICOLE RICHIE
Nicole was once addicted to heroin, pills and marijuana. In 2003,
she got arrested for illegal possession of heroin and in 2007, for
being under the influence of Vicodin and marijuana. Now, the
singer has completely turned her life around, is married, and
is a mother of two.
DREW BARRYMORE
Though Drew Barrymore is known for playing the role of a good girl,
she actually has had a bad history of drug and alcohol addiction.
At the tender age of 11, she was a heavy smoker and was
addicted to alcohol. Fortunately, she has been able to
overcome her habits and according to sources,
has remained sober.
DANIEL RADCLIFFE
While filming the Harry Potter films, Daniel Radcliffe was dealing
with serious alcohol abuse (an event that could have seriously
jeopardized his image and his acting career). Thankfully, he has
“kicked” the habit and now lives a “quiet, non-Hollywood lifestyle”.
