HIGH PAYING JOBS THAT APPEAR TO BE FUN

DISC JOCKEY
Back in the seventies a DJ was the soul of the party and the only
payment he hoped for was a few free drinks and to see people
having fun with his music choices. Nowadays, DJ’s have become
some of the most popular music stars in the world, playing music
in front of thousands of people at concerts. Tiesto, the
highest-earning DJ in the world, has an estimated net worth
of about £52 million.
PROFESSIONAL POKER PLAYER
Poker is probably the most popular card game for betting and
individual play. However, as a spectator “sport” poker
traditionally hasn’t been the most engaging thing to watch.
Nevertheless, for the players it’s one of the most profitable
“jobs” they could have ever dreamed of with some of the
top players making millions.
CARTOONIST
Being a cartoonist is really a hobby and some people are lucky
(and skilled) enough to make a living from it. A cartoonist who
specializes in drawing cartoons for entertainment pieces,
political commentary, or advertising usually works for magazines
and newspapers, while the ones who enter the world of comics
are those who make the most money.
PERSONAL TRAINER
The number of people entering the personal training profession
has been on the rise in recent years, with the average trainer
making about £28,000 a year.
MAGICIAN
When you think of magicians you probably think of famous
multimillionaires like Criss Angel and David Blaine, but we’re afraid
only a handful manage to reach this kind of stardom. However, an
average humble magician makes about £34,000 per year.
FASHION DESIGNER
Officially, there is no formal education or certification required
to become a successful fashion designer other than having good
(or strangely unique, in most cases) taste in clothing and being
able to predict future fashion trends. The average annual salary
is estimated to be around £44,000, but if your name happens to be
Yves Saint Laurent or Versace then the numbers are in the
hundreds of millions.
WINEMAKER
A winemaker is usually a bon vivant with elegant taste who gets
involved with all the various procedures necessary for winemaking.
They are generally employed by wineries or wine companies
and get paid an average salary of £64,500 a year. However, there are
some reports that companies in France and Spain pay
winemakers over half a million a year to do what they do.
DOG WALKER
You can currently earn up to £30/hour for just walking someone
else’s dog. Not bad if you take into account that you also get
a chance to work out while having some loyal company.
AIRLINE PILOT
Being an airline pilot has been one of the most prestigious
professions for decades now. In the United States alone, only
0.2% of the general population has a pilot’s licence and less than
0.1% fly regularly. Additionally, you get to have the kind of view
few others get to have (usually only other pilots) on a regular
basis all while making more or less about £62,000 per year.
