LONDON HEATHROW
Heathrow is a major international airport in London. It is the busiest
airport in the UK and the busiest in Europe in terms of passenger
traffic. Heathrow is also the third-busiest airport in the world per
total passenger traffic with an estimated seventy-five million
passengers each year.
CENTRAL JAPAN INTERNATIONAL
Also known as Chubu Centrair International Airport, Central Japan
International serves the city of Nagoya and Japan’s central Chubu
region. The highlight of this airport is undoubtedly the 4th Floor
Sky Town Shopping Centre, accessible to the general public,
with sixty-one shops and restaurants.
ZURICH AIRPORT
Zurich Airport is located in Zurich, Switzerland, and is the twelfth
busiest airport in Europe with over twenty-two million passengers.
Located approximately eleven kilometres north of the city centre,
the Swiss Federal Railways train takes only fifteen minutes to get
to Zurich Hauptbahnhof (the main train station). Centrally located,
Zurich is home to many worldwide financial institutions and
situated on the shores of Lake Zurich, appealing to both
business and leisure travellers.
TOKYO INTERNATIONAL HANEDA
Haneda Airport is the operations hub for five major airlines: Air Do,
All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Skymark Airlines, and Skynet
Asia Airways. It is located in Ota, Tokyo, fourteen kilometres south
of Tokyo Station, the heart of Tokyo’s transport system. It’s the best
airport in Japan and currently in the top five for the world.
HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL
Hong Kong International Airport has been commercially operational
since 1998, replacing the former Kai Tak Airport, and is an
important regional trans-shipment centre, passenger hub, and
gateway for destinations in mainland China (with forty-five
destinations) and the rest of Asia. The airport is currently the
world’s busiest cargo gateway and one of the world’s
busiest passenger airports.
MUNICH AIRPORT
Munich Airport is like a huge shopping mall, and the two terminals
are connected by a large courtyard. There is easy and close
access between the two, with no trams or other public transportation
needed. It’s currently ranked as the best airport in the western
hemisphere and the third best in the world.
INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Seoul’s Incheon International Airport opened in March 2001 and has
been winning many prestigious awards ever since, along with
praise for its excellence, down to the littlest detail, with some people
even commenting on the beauty of the lights at night reflecting on
the moored aircrafts. It is the second-busiest airport in the world
in terms of cargo and freight and one of the busiest in
terms of international passengers.
SINGAPORE CHANGI
Singapore Changi Airport, or simply Changi Airport, opened for the
first time in 1981 and since then has been Singapore’s primary
civilian airport, and one of the largest transportation hubs in
Southeast Asia. It is currently considered the world’s best airport
and has won over fifty international awards in the past
twenty-five years.
